Our Purpose
The purpose of the Whatcom Family & Community Network is to assure all Whatcom County families and children are safe, healthy, and thriving.
Our Focus
WFCN focuses on community organizing at both the neighborhood and county-wide level. We bring together residents and key leaders to solve problems and build on existing community strengths, using the principles of asset-based community development and family support.
We believe healthy and well-connected communities are necessary to support healthy families and healthy families are the foundation of a healthy community.
The Whatcom Family & Community Network strives through its partnerships to engage the broad diversity of children, youth, and families in improving their community.

The Network legally operates under the 501(c)(3) private nonprofit "Whatcom County Commission on Children and Youth" and is affiliated with the Washington State Family Policy Council, a family-community-state partnership that helps prevent child abuse and neglect, youth substance abuse and supports school success and other issues concerning families.
